Mark is the Corporate Controller at J.D. Irving in Saint John, New Brunswick. He has formerly held executive finance positions with Comscore and Opower in Virginia. He started his career in audit with KPMG, having held progressively more senior positions across offices in Virginia, Ottawa and Halifax. Mark holds his CPA and graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Commerce.

Mark currently leads a team of over fifty accountants in the Saint John office. At Comscore Mark was responsible for leading a multi-year financial restatement and for restructuring a significant portion of the accounting organization. Prior to Comscore, Mark led the SEC and technical accounting team at Opower where he was involved in the initial public offering (IPO) as well as the sell side diligence as part of the Company’s sale to Oracle. At KPMG Mark worked primarily in the technology sector with public and private companies.Mark has led teams of various sizes over many years and finds his passion in creating high-performing cohesive teams that drive continuous improvement, strategic thinking and significant value to business stakeholders.   

Mark is also on the Board of St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and the Finance Committee for the Thistle-St. Andrew’s curling club and is passionate about helping to improve his community and the Atlantic region. Mark currently resides in Rothesay, New Brunswick with his wife and three children.
