Genomics in Mining Program

Interested to learn how genomics could benefit your organization?

About The Fund

Genome Atlantic, College of the North Atlantic (CNA), and the Atlantic hub of the Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA) are teaming up to launch a small-scale genomics funding program for Atlantic Canada’s mining industry. This funding program provides project-based funding for companies undertaking genomics-related research and development, products, or services. Preference is given to Atlantic Canadian companies serving this region, with applications assessed on an individual basis. Projects may explore areas where genomics could provide value, connect a company or organization with genomics expertise, support development of a research and development roadmap, trial ideas, prove concepts, or facilitate technology interpretation.

This program offers up to $10,000 for Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA) members, or $5,000 for non-members, with co-funding required for higher requests. It is supported by MICA, Genome Atlantic, and College of the North Atlantic.
